Ford positioning for rising fuel prices

Mark Fields explains the role that fuel price developments will play on product development plans at Ford.

Product is front and centre in the One Ford business strategy, and the forces shaping product planning are many and varied. Key among them, however, is the cost of fuel. Speaking to analysts following the publication of its third-quarter results, Ford President and Chief Executive Mark Fields provided some insight into the importance of fuel efficiency in product planning, as well as the lessons learned from Tesla in terms of electrification and software engineering.
