Failure to innovate in connected landscape could spell danger for OEMs

The connected car may have arrived but are OEMs ready to accept business model changes to cater for it?

As automotive OEMs and technology giants battle for pole position in creating the future of connected and autonomous vehicles, a question which is often overlooked is whether traditional industry players are really ready, or willing, to make severe changes in their business strategies going forward.

Greggory Garrett, Chief Executive and Managing Director of strategy consultancy firm CGS Advisors, recently spoke in an Automotive Megatrends webinar entitled ‘Is the Automotive Industry Really Prepared to be Connected?’, and discussed how the industry must address means of changing the relationships with customers and partners to be successful with the next generation of connected products at home and on the road.
