Euro 6c engines provide Proton with an edge

Proton has high hopes for its European market re-entry and a new engine family, writes Michael Nash

Ricardo and Malaysian OEM Proton have announced that they are working together on an R&D programme based upon highly efficient, low emission engines. The project started in April 2015 and has already produced a working prototype. It will form the basis of Proton’s new family of three- and four-cylinder engines that include turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) variants, targeted at the European market.
