Downsizing still to dominate, but not without drawbacks

Despite advances in battery technology, vehicle charging and fuel cell stacks, downsizing of internal combustion engines (ICE) will remain the favoured approach of OEMs globally for the coming years. That's one of the conclusions drawn from KPMG's latest 2014 Global Automotive Executive Survey, which polled the opinions of 200 senior executives from OEMs, suppliers, dealers, financial service providers, rental companies and mobility service providers from 28 countries during July and August 2013.
