Daimler’s brownfield route harnesses EV opportunities with minor investment

Daimler's not ready for a dedicated EV plant just yet, but it is pushing ahead with production plans for its ambitious electrification targets. By Megan Lampinen

Daimler is positioning Germany as a hub for electric vehicle (EV) production, albeit from a brownfield start. The OEM intends to build its electrified range alongside traditionally powered models at its established production network.
