DAF’s XD and XF e-trucks enter long-awaited series production

Production was delayed by more than two years, but DAF is now prepared to strengthen its foothold in Europe’s e-truck market. By Stewart Burnett

DAF Trucks has started series production of its next-generation XD and XF Electric models in Eindhoven, marking its most ambitious push to date into zero-emission transport. Both e-trucks, built on DAF’s existing diesel platforms, can offer ranges of upwards of 500 km depending on battery configuration, and are designed for distribution as well as long-haul applications.
