The trucking industry is taking electrification more seriously than ever, but with batteries set to remain costly, manufacturers must optimise other areas such as power electronics. By Xavier Boucherat

Attitudes to electrification in the trucking sector have traditionally proven sceptical, despite the hype whipped up in global media over the likes of the Tesla Semi. Low ranges, high costs and a lack of infrastructure are a hard sell for an industry where the bottom line will always be king, and where risk-taking rarely if ever factors into decision making.
