Currency fluctuations keep Nissan forecast cautious

After a solid fiscal year 2015 Nissan is tempering its outlook but not its ambitions, writes Megan Lampinen

Nissan reported solid growth in many key metrics over the last fiscal year but caution dominates the 2016 forecast. In FY2015 (ended March 2016), Nissan's revenue rose 7.2% year-on-year, with a 34.6% rise in operating income and a 24.2% jump in ordinary income. However, for the current fiscal year, all of these are expected to decline: revenue from ¥12.189tr (US$112bn) to ¥11.800tr, operating income from ¥793bn to ¥710bn and ordinary income from ¥862bn to ¥800bn.
