Looking ahead at the breakthroughs in commercial vehicle powertrain technology at Automotive Megatrends Europe 2014, common themes of discussion emerged that suggested a number of important changes to expect in the next decade.

The issue of emissions was high on the agenda for many of the conference’s commentators, with OEMs, suppliers, consultants and trade organisations all recognising the need for cleaner technology that will meet increasingly stringent fuel economy standards and preserve the environment.
