COMMENT: February’s Class 8 orders show continued strength. Can this last?

BY OLIVER DIXON. Cancellation levels and inventory data for the full quarter will paint a true picture of the Class 8 market

ACT has released preliminary data for Class 8 orders totalling 31,200 units for February. This figure represents the fifth consecutive month of orders in excess of 30,000 units, and the 17th consecutive month of orders over 20,000 units. The strength implied by these orders is underlined by the observation that we have to go back to the November 2005 – March 2006 period to find a similar five month period during which orders topped 30,00 units.
