Natural gas (NG) has recently become the biggest producer of electricity in the US, accounting for 35.6% of the grid’s energy with coal taking 30.2%. Homes are benefitting considerably from being powered by the clean alternative. However, the use of NG as a fuel in the automotive industry has been restricted by the rollout of NG fuelling infrastructure – the reliability of which poses significant challenges.
