C-Suite shy on pinning down a dollar figure for safety impact

Despite numerous safety developments, road fatalities continue to rise. In the US, the number of traffic deaths increased by 10.4% year-on-year in the first six months this year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has described the situation as nearing 'crisis' levels. Vehicle manufacturers are rolling out numerous new technologies geared at improving that, but it all comes at a cost - and pinning that down isn't always easy.
