According to a recent survey carried out by the UK’s largest independent road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), between 2008 and 2013, 3,493 people were killed in accidents involving a person driving for work, including 515 in 2013. In fact, 72% of people who drive for business reasons have been offered no training by their employer at all – even though 44% of them said they would welcome the opportunity.
The survey, carried out by the IAM’s Drive & Survive division, highlighted the problems when it comes to business driving safety, and has therefore called for companies to step up their commitment to safer business driving on UK roads.
