US truck tonnage continues to rise, albeit somewhat short of last year's strong growth rates. American Trucking Associations’ advanced seasonally adjusted For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index increased 1% in May, following a revised 0.9% gain the previous month. The non seasonally adjusted index, reflecting strictly the numbers reported by fleets to ATA, was up 1.8% from the previous month.
