Australia marks six months of decline as repositioning efforts continue

While the FCAI remains optimistic of another record year, further adjustments will be needed to face oncoming challenges.

New vehicle sales in Australia continue to struggle, with April marking the sixth consecutive month of year-on-year decline for the industry. The slump comes at a time of transition, as the market shifts from a focus on local production to a greater reliance on import, sales and service. While the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) remains optimistic of another record year, recent developments show further adjustments will be needed to face oncoming challenges.
