The stage for an autonomous future is being set today, but the roles of all the players have not yet been clarified. Apple has been one of the dark horses but recent news from California shines a little light on its future ambitions. The technology giant has become the latest company to receive approval for testing of autonomous vehicles in the state, suggesting it is pushing ahead with self-driving software and possibly hardware.
