Alarm bells or refreshing honesty? Tesla attributes sales shortfall to ‘hubris’

Tesla has admitted it may have overloaded the X with too many new tech systems at once, but this hasn't allayed everyone's concerns. By Megan Lampinen

It may be brilliant at drumming up public excitement and pioneering new technology but Tesla has once again disappointed on the delivery front. In Q4 last year it barely made its sales target, even after it was lowered, scraping in at the bottom end of the projected 17,000-19,000 range with 17,192 units. This year, it fell considerably further from target.
