After arguably one of the busiest corporate weeks ever for GM's Chief Executive Dan Akerson - in which he announced his own retirement and replacement, plans to end Holden production in Australia, the withdrawal of Chevrolet from Europe, and the emergence from US government ownership - he appeared once again on the public scene at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Monday, 16 December. Akerson was outlining GM's current state of health in the aftermath of the whirlwind of change.
