TransCore's DAT North American Freight Index rose 8.4% year-on-year in August, the sixth time in 2012 that monthly volume has exceeded prior-year levels. Freight volume on the spot market also increased 1.1% month-on-month, versus the July 2012 level, following a typical seasonal pattern.
