A 13.8% year-on-year decline saw new car registrations in Italy drop to 163,700 units in May. The country's automotive industry had posted registrations of 189,878 cars in May 2009, by comparison.
Registrations were, however, higher than in April 2010, when 159,971 cars were registered in Italy, data compiled by Italy's Ministry
