The Volkswagen Group has outlined its plans to ‘fix’ those of its diesel cars and vans in Europe being recalled as a result of the so-called emissions scandal. By way of alleged ‘clarification’, the company has spelt out the modifications required on the 2.0 and 1.6-litre EA189 engines, to cut back their on-road oxides of nitrogen (NOx) pollutant emissions, to match the levels measured during type approval certification.
