On August 17, 2015, the annual Iran Motor Show kicked off in Mashhad. As Iran’s largest of its kind, the show brought together over 300 models of nearly 40 brands from around the world. Chery-MVM JV showed up on a 740-square-meter ultra-large booth. The debut of the new strategic model Tiggo 5 made the booth a focus of attention.

Chery-MVM JV holds the third-largest market share in Iran, behind two state-owned enterprises (Saipa and IKCO) only. This time, the company not only invited Iran’s top DJ and lighting company to liven up the booth, but also prepared a rich high-tech equipment experience session for visitors. All these made the booth most popular in the venue. Notably, despite the strict height limit, the company ingeniously built up a double-layer booth as the only exhibitor with such a booth in the show. Some visitors said the booth is the most gorgeous and creative booth in the show as well as the highest-grade booth in Iran’s motor shows in recent 30 years.

In addition to the creative booth, the pre-launch of Tiggo 5 drew great attention from local media and consumers. As an all-new SUV model, Tiggo 5 is the highest-grade SUV model launched in Iran after Tiggo 3. The model will be launched officially in November and sold under Chery brand.

Tiggo 5 was jointly built by world top auto designers from auto giants such as Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. The original “water” concept perfectly combines elegant and fluid lines with the solid body to make Tiggo 5 vigorous and trendy. Also, Tiggo 5 fully carries human-oriented functions such as one-button startup and keyless entry, and is equipped with ACTECO 2.0L DVVT engine and 7-speed CVT. Due to its outstanding safety performance, Tiggo 5 was previously rated as a five-star model in China’s authoritative safety test–C-NCAP.

With the improvement of international issues, Iran’s economy is recovering gradually and the Iranian auto market is showing signs of a rebound. The company’s high-profile appearance at the show will lay a solid foundation for it to retain its market lead, and the pre-launch of Tiggo 5 will create a new opportunity for the company to expand its share in the SUV segment in the future.
