Achates Power, the developer of an opposed-piston engine design, has produced efficiency test results that it says demonstrate a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to a recently introduced, award-winning (but unnamed) four-stroke diesel engine. The result represents a 7% fuel efficiency gain over a year’s development work.
