Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export results for June 2014 and for the first half of calendar year 2014 (January-June).

1. Production
June 2014
Nissan’s global production in June increased 5.6% year-on-year to 441,719 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June.

Production in Japan was down 15.3% year-on-year to 77,865 units.

Production outside of Japan increased 11.5% year-on-year to 363,854 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June.

In the U.S., production increased 18.9% year-on-year to 80,677 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Rogue, marking an all-time record for the month of June.

In Mexico, production increased 23.6% year-on-year to 73,635 units, mainly due to strong sales of the Sentra and Versa (known as the Latio in Japan), marking an all-time record for the month of June.

In the U.K., production decreased 3.5% year-on-year to 44,258 units.

In Spain, production increased 20.9% year-on-year to 14,815 units.

In China, production increased 10.6% year-on-year to 100,726 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new X-Trail and the Sylphy series.

Production in other regions increased 0.4% year-on-year to 49,743 units.

First half: January-June 2014
Nissan’s global production increased 8.8% year-on-year to 2,623,219 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In Japan, production increased 2.5% year-on-year to 457,571 units.

Production outside of Japan increased 10.3% year-on-year to 2,165,648 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In the U.S., production increased 24.1% year-on-year to 487,851 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In Mexico, production increased 17.8% year-on-year to 412,332 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In the U.K., production was up 7.5% year-on-year to 274,570 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In Spain, production increased 19.3% year-on-year to 86,963 units.

In China, production increased 13.3% year-on-year to 601,303 units.

Production in other regions was down 4.4% year-on-year to 302,629 units.

2. Sales
June 2014
Global sales increased 5.1% year-on-year to 441,883 units.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 50,296 units in Japan, a decline of 10.9% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in June decreased 15.5% year-on-year to 31,516 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 1.9% year-on-year to 18,780 units.

Sales outside of Japan increased 7.6% year-on-year to 391,587 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June.

Sales in the U.S. increased 5.3% year-on-year to 109,643 units, mainly due to higher demand for the Sentra and Versa, marking an all-time record for the month of June.

In Mexico, sales increased 4.8% year-on-year to 22,037 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 61 consecutive months.

In Europe, sales increased 13.1% year-on-year to 62,183 units, mainly due to increased sales of the Note, and for Russia, in particular, the Almera.

In China, sales were up 11.1% year-on-year to 112,641 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Sylphy series and the new X-Trail.

Sales in other regions increased 0.4% year-on-year to 73,630 units.

First half: January-June 2014
Global sales increased 7.4% year-on-year to 2,711,673 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 387,143 units in Japan, up 11.4% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations declined 6.8% year-on-year to 248,030 units.

Sales of mini-vehicles in Japan increased 71.0% year-on-year to 139,113 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

Sales outside of Japan were up 6.8% year-on-year to 2,324,530 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In the U.S., sales increased 12.8% year-on-year to 704,477 units, achieving an all-time sales record for the January-June period.

In Mexico, sales increased 0.7% year-on-year to 128,237 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

Sales in Europe were up 13.4% year-on-year to 375,254 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.

In China, sales increased 14.6% year-on-year to 620,372 units.

Sales in other regions declined 4.0% year-on-year to 439,417 units.

3. Japan Exports
June 2014
Nissan’s exports in June decreased 16.8% year-on-year to 45,240 units.

First half: January-June 2014
Nissan’s exports in January-June decreased 5.4% year-on-year to 218,554 units.
