Last year, a study found that diesel-powered vehicles in the US had lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than gasoline vehicles and that owners of diesel vehicles saved US$2,000 to US$6,000 in TCO during a three- to five-year period, compared with gasoline-powered vehicles in similar segments.
