Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to localize production of a currently undisclosed core vehicle segment model at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant by 2027, further solidifying its US presence amid growing trade volatility. The facility, operational since 1997, has produced over 4.5 million vehicles and serves as the global export hub for the automaker’s SUVs, with 60% of its annual output shipped overseas.
