CATL: Chinese e-truck market share set to hit 50% by 2030

China is already by far the global leader in e-truck adoption, and CATL believes this lead will only become more pronounced. By Stewart Burnett

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery giant CATL has made a bold prediction about the future of commercial transport: as much as half of China’s heavy-duty truck sales could be battery-electric by 2030. This would represent a fivefold increase over the roughly 10% market share enjoyed by e-trucks in China as of 2024.
