Another Gold Ford World Excellence Award for Webasto plant in Schierling
Webasto has won the Ford World Excellence Award in the Gold category for the third time. This is the highest honor that the Ford Motor Company awards annually to its suppliers. The production plant in Schierling was recognized for its quality, delivery reliability and cost efficiency. Following two Silver and two Gold awards in previous years, this is now the fifth time Ford has presented an award to the Schierling plant. Worldwide, only ten other companies have received the Gold Award.
“We would like to thank Ford for this fantastic accolade and the recognition of our work that it represents”, said a delighted Dr. Holger Engelmann, Chairman of the Management Board Webasto SE. “The fact that we have received the Gold Award for the third time in four years shows us that we are on the right course. Our plant in Schierling is a showcase for our global production network with which we ensure uniformly high quality standards worldwide. It’s all down to our well-trained and committed employees that we are able to implement this so successfully. I would like to thank them wholeheartedly for this.”

Schierling Plant is Synonymous with Lightweight Technologies
Webasto concentrates almost 30 years of manufacturing experience at its Schierling plant close to Regensburg. Since 1986, Webasto has produced various roof systems for renowned automobile manufacturers here. Today, Schierling is Webasto’s global plastics competence center for roof systems. At this plant, Webasto manufactures polycarbonate panels and roofs, light Webasto Glas ProTec® safety glass, solar roofs and roof modules made of polyurethane composite material.
