Since its world first launch in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013, Quester has been well accepted by UD Trucks customers in Southeast Asia, Southern Africa and Middle East regions. In 2015, Quester released its full range to serve a variety of customers in different industrial segments with its robust performance, ease of maintenance and durability.
“To better meet the needs of our global customers, UD Trucks spent over 6 years in product designing and development, marrying UD Trucks’ long experience in the growing markets with the wide and high performance offers available today by utilizing Volvo Group’s global technology,” says Toshi Odawara, UD Trucks Quester Product Line Director. US$70 million were invested in setting up the global production base of Quester in Bangkok, Thailand, securing the high quality manufacturing and sourcing based on Japanese craftsmanship.
During the Motor Show, two 6X4 and 6X2 Tractor Questers with 8-liter engines and 330HP were displayed as part of the wide UD Quester range. Quester is designed to offer best in its class fuel efficiency and its wide variety of applications support customers’ uptime.
In Vietnam, high demands for logistics and cargo business are expected in the southern region, while petrochemical and construction segments are higher in demands in the northern area. UD Trucks appointed UMG Vietnam and One Asia as its official distributors and 2 dealers have been recently appointed, Viet Nhat and Oto Tay Do, located respectively in Dong Nai and Mekong Delta. This is to guarantee that UD Trucks will support and respond to the different needs and demands of its customers in a quick and efficient manner. During this event, UD Trucks also offered a promotion campaign with a 3-year-warranty, which includes service maintenance and repairs.
Quester will further support the needs of UD Trucks customers in fast growing new markets in the SEA including Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia with the UD Trucks’ local gemba approach inherited from Japan.
