Schaeffler Greater China was selected as one of “2015 Excellent CSR Practices of Foreign-invested Enterprises in China” and was titled “Best Community Promoter”.

Hosted by China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), this event was participated by enterprises from 18 countries and regions, including 14 Fortune 500 companies, from which Schaeffler Greater China stood out and won the title of “Best Community Promoter”. “As a responsible corporate citizen, Schaeffler plays an active role in fulfilling its social responsibilities and taking practical actions support the community and society, and is committed to seeking common prosper-ity and development with the place where we locate.” said Dr. Zhang Yilin, CEO Schaeffler Greater China.

In cooperation with Suzhou Chien-Shiung Institute of Technology and Shanghai Tongji University, Schaeffler Group launched a “two-in-one” integrated undergradu-ate degree program, which involves higher education and business organizations teaming up to develop mechanics and technicians with a thorough grounding in theory and practice. This is also the first time that a business has offered and par-ticipated in a “two-in-one” integrated bachelor’s degree program in China. The Schaeffler integrated undergraduate degree course is a six-year program with an annual intake of ten students and is open to graduates from local high schools in Taicang.

As a Germany manufacturing enterprise with outstanding traditions and experience, Schaeffler has trained more than 500 front-line workers and technical managers since the program’s debut in Taicang in 2005. Currently, Schaeffler has three train-ing centers in China at Taicang, Yinchuan and Nanjing, and is working with local vocational and technical schools to develop technical personnel, and has gained significant economic and social benefits.
