Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn today announced the Renault ZOE will be available for immediate sale with the Z.E. 40 battery enabling it to travel 400km NEDC (equivalent to a real-world range of 300km in urban or suburban areas) on a single charge. The ZOE is already Europe’s best-selling electric passenger vehicle and this range increase surpasses any affordable electric vehicle available today.
“This month Renault surpassed 100,000 electric vehicles sold and now ZOE will travel up to 400km without recharging. We are continuing to push in areas where innovation matters most for Renault customers. Making it easy for them to choose electric, with new connected services to enhance their driving experience, is a top priority for us and for ZOE customers.” said Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn.
Ghosn presented against a backdrop of Renault’s entirely renewed range, exhibited for the first time all together at the Paris Motor Show. The new KOLEOS INITIALE PARIS, Renault’s top-of-the range SUV, was shown for the first time in Europe today, marking the finale of a Groupe Renault product offensive that has seen four electric vehicles, 15 renewed models, and 11 totally new models in the past four years. The company has enjoyed record financial results in the past 18 months due in part to the product offensive, manufacturing investment, Renault-Nissan Alliance synergies, and geographic expansion.
Groupe Renault Senior Vice President Design Laurens van den Acker also unveiled a new Renault concept car, TREZOR, which sets the design vision for the next generation of Renault models and technology investments.
ZOE sets new bar for affordable electric vehicles ready now
As the pioneer of all-electric mobility and Europe’s number one seller of electric vehicles, Renault has stepped up its innovation programme and the deployment of its Zero Emission (1) strategy.
Fitted with the new Z.E. 40 battery, the Renault ZOE now delivers a record NEDC driving range of 400km, which is twice the distance from its original launch and the best of any mainstream all-electric vehicle available now.
More than just adding breakthrough on distance, ZOE owners can now benefit from a range of new connected services and equipment upgrades:
New connected services
• Z.E. Trip: locates all public charging stations in association with the R-LINK navigation system (Europe)
• Z.E. Pass: permits the use of most charging stations irrespective of their operator, plus simplified payment using a smartphone (Europe)
• Z.E. smartphone app: door-to-door navigation (available early 2017)
Equipment levels: more choice and features
• A limited-edition ZOE Edition One in France / Bose equipment level in the model’s other European markets (premium leather upholstery, Bose® audio, exclusive body colour).
• New features for the other equipment levels (two additional body colours; new interior appointments for Zen versions; electronically folding door mirrors, new wheels and new trim for Intens versions).
ZOE fitted with the new Z.E. 40 battery is made at Renault’s Flins plant in France and is available to order now, with delivery before the end of the year.
Test drives of Renault ZOE and Kangoo Z.E. are possible during the motor show at the electric test drives center situated in Hall 3.

Concept Car Embodies French Design and Easy Life
The TREZOR marks the beginning of a new cycle of development that explores design language and technologies for Renault’s upcoming models. The warm styling and comfort-focused features embody both a vision of future mobility and the vibrant passion that is associated with the automobile. The style is warm and sensual, with red as the predominant colour, and an accent on high-quality materials, including wood and leather, a blend of craftsmanship, technology and a truly French design touch. The cockpit offers a foreshadowing of the sleeker, increasingly refined interiors of future models.
Making life easier are features like the latest ultra high-definition screens, smartphone recognition and connectivity, and personalizable touch-screen interfaces.
The TREZOR offers a choice of three driving modes: neutral, sport and autonomous. The autonomous driving mode can be activated using the MULTI-SENSE menu.
The TREZOR all-electric GT concept-car transfers track-to-road learnings from Renault e.dams two-time Formula E champion and focuses on performance, mainly the ability to provide acceleration from standstill to 100kph in less than four seconds.
