Renault Group sales in the UK, including the Renault and Dacia brands, increase again in June according the figures released by the SMMT today.  This is the 14th consecutive month of market share growth shown by the group compared to the same month in the previous year.

June results

  • Second best month for volume for the Renault Group car sales in the UK since the beginning of 2013; the volume increased by 37.0% vs June 2013 outpacing the market growth of  rate by almost five times
  • Renault Captur consolidates its number two position on the podium for B-segment crossovers
  • Dacia Sandero, a rising star , advances in the Top five of the highly competitive retail five-door B-segment segment
  • Impressive performance of Renault Vans, increasing 61.1%, reaching a 7.1% market share, with a volume increase double the UK vans market growth rate
  • Confirming its core models focus strategy, Renault hits 6.1% share in the B-segment, with Clio, Captur and ZOE; a solid +68% in share points increase compared to June 2013

January-June results

  • The fastest growing brands in the UK retail car market are Renault and Dacia.  With both brands being sold through the same dealerships, this volume brought the Renault Group an increase of 1.2% share points compared to the same period last year
  • Renault car sales increased by 60% and Dacia by 85.6% compared to last year, outpacing the car market growth rate of 10.6%
  • Renault Clio, the first of the new ‘Life Designed’ success stories that debuted in 2013, has now consolidated its presence in the Top five of the five-door B-segment, increasing its volume 31%
  • Dacia Duster is now in the Top five of UK’s C-SUV retail segment (excluding Premium) with 2,880 units sold
  • A few weeks ahead of the national launch campaign for the All-New Trafic, Renault has increased its van market share to 5.8% ; the volume growth of 62.6% of Renault vans is nearly four times larger than the van market growth in the same period

Commenting on the results, Ken Ramirez, Renault UK Managing Director, said, “We continue on our growth path for the Renault Group in the UK dramatically increasing both our volume and market share for Renault cars and vans.  Dacia continues its success story now achieving over 1% car market share.”
