Peterbilt implemented its industry-leading Engineered Routings in all configurations of the Models 579 and 567as well as in the iconic Model 389, further enhancing serviceability across its product lines, the company announced.

“Thanks to the innovative features of the engineered chassis routings, Peterbilt customers of the Models 567, 579 and 389 will enjoy enhanced ease of repair and maintenance,” said Scott Newhouse, Peterbilt Chief Engineer. “Peterbilt has always had high quality chassis routings but today, the best just got better.”

All configurations of the Models 579, 567 and 389 now come standard with the new routings, including previously unavailable configurations such as back of cab battery boxes, natural gas engines and vertical aftertreatment systems. The engineered routings bundle each system (air, fuel and electrical) separately, allowing easier identification and service by technicians.

Routing enhancements are standard with orders specifying 2017 emissions engines. The first phase of the improved chassis routings was introduced in February 2016, and now all configurations are complete.
