Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for October 2014.

1. Production

Nissan’s global production in October decreased 0.7% year-on-year to 462,397 units.

Production in Japan decreased 10.0% year-on-year to 73,111 units, mainly due to the shift of production of the Rogue and Murano from Japan to the United States.

Production outside of Japan increased 1.3% year-on-year to 389,286 units, marking an all-time record for the month of October.

In the U.S., production increased 18.2% year-on-year to 93,101 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Rogue, marking an all-time record for a single month.

In Mexico, production increased 16.5% year-on-year to 76,762 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Sentra, marking an all-time record for a single month.

In the U.K., production decreased 3.4% year-on-year to 50,622 units.

In Spain, production decreased 14.9% year-on-year to 9,710 units, mainly due to discontinued production of Nissan Primastar and Renault Trafic, despite increased production of the new Pulsar.

In China, production decreased 16.4% year-on-year to 98,816 units.

Production in other regions increased 4.6% year-on-year to 60,275 units.

2. Sales

Global sales increased 1.5% year-on-year to 421,044 units, making an all-time record for the month of October.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 41,266 units in Japan, down 19.2% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in October decreased 18.3% year-on-year to 27,778 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 21.0% year-on-year to 13,488 units.

Sales outside of Japan increased 4.4% year-on-year to 379,778 units, making an all-time sales record for the month of October.

Sales in the U.S. increased 13.3% year-on-year to 103,117 units, an all-time sales record for the month of October, mainly due to higher demand for the Sentra, Versa, Rogue and Altima.

Sales in Mexico increased 23.5% year-on-year to 27,004 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of October, mainly due to strong demand for the new X-Trail and March. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 65 consecutive months.

In Europe, sales increased 14.3% year-on-year to 62,318 units, mainly due to increased sales of the new X-Trail and the Almera, marking an all-time record for the month of October.

In China, sales were down 9.0% year-on-year to 104,423 units.

Sales in other regions increased 0.4% year-on-year to 73,506 units.

3. Japan Exports

Nissan’s exports in October decreased 25.5% year-on-year to 37,070 units.
