Nissan today announced that Jean-Pierre Diernaz has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing for Europe.

Jean-Pierre has worked in many different roles within the organization since he joined Nissan in 2005 – from leading marketing for Infiniti to his most recent position as Divisional General Manager for product marketing. He also brings a strong background in Nissan’s electric vehicle strategy, having led the company’s EV program for the European market.

Jean-Pierre will be based at Nissan’s European headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland, and will report to Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for Nissan in Europe.

He replaces Bastien Schupp, who has been appointed as Vice President of Global Marketing Communications at Renault, Nissan’s Alliance partner. Under Bastien’s leadership, Nissan initiated its partnership with the UEFA Champions League and deployed its Customer Promise initiative.

Both appointments are effective from January 1, 2016.
