Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) system for both Google Android Auto*1 and Apple CarPlay*2 will be available on the 2016 Pajero*3 SUV due to be launched in Europe this summer. This will be the first MMC model to be fitted with this system and MMC will sequentially expand the models and regions it will be available.

SDA allows users of either Android smartphones or iPhones to connect to the dashboard display using a USB cable. The system is designed to prioritize allowing the driver, either by using the touchscreen or by voice control to safely and simply:

access navigation and other apps on their smartphone

make and receive phone calls,

send and receive text messages and
-
listen to music, etc.
Moreover, using the latest map information from the smartphone, updating map information for the car’s navigation system becomes unnecessary.

Apple CarPlay Features

CarPlay is the smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car. You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music, all in a way that allows you to stay focused on the road.
Maps
Complete with turn-by-turn directions, traffic conditions and estimated travel time. Can also predict where the user is most likely to want to go using addresses from their email, text messages, contacts and calendar.
Phone
Make calls, return missed calls and listen to voicemail. Siri helps do all these things.
Messages
Siri can take dictation, read aloud, send and reply to the driver’s text messages for them.
Music
Access your artists, song, playlists, and third party audio apps using your car’s built-in controls. Or just tell Siri what you’d like to listen to.
