FISITA today announced its second round of travel bursaries for 2014, awarded to students wishing to work or study abroad, as part of the FISITA commitment to support automotive engineers at the outset of their careers.
For over a decade, FISITA has championed the overseas placements of hundreds of students from around the world, financially supporting prospective graduates studying automotive and mechanical engineering degrees. FISITA accepts applications throughout the year and awards bursaries in May and December. Amongst the latest group of winners are students heading to Japan, New Zealand, Germany and the United States, who will be taking up placements at FISITA Honorary Committee companies such as Volkswagen and Daimler.
Chris Mason, Chief Executive of FISITA explained, “FISITA’s commitment to supporting young engineers as they explore and experience career pathway opportunities within the global automotive industry is an excellent initiative, which never fails to deliver for both students and the automotive sector.”
FISITA will award its next set of travel bursaries in the spring of next year. Any student that is a registered member of a FISITA automotive engineering society and is in full time higher education studying engineering, is eligible to apply for the FISITA Travel Bursary.
The initiative is part of a range of activities developed by FISITA to advise and support the engineers of tomorrow. More information and guidance for young people at various stages of education, detailing the possible roads to a career in automotive can be found at www.YourFutureInAutomotive.com
