FCA Canada has been named one of Canada’s top employers as part of the 2016 Randstad Award.

The Randstad Award began in Belgium in the year 2000 and is now presented each year to the most attractive employers in 25 countries. This is the sixth year for the Canadian awards, which recognize 150 stand-out employers by asking those surveyed how appealing the selected companies are as a potential employer, plus 10 factors that determine perception of the employer brand, i.e. financial health, long-term job security, a good work-life balance and strong management.

“We are honoured to receive such significant recognition from Randstad and in particular from the Canadians who endorsed FCA Canada as a desirable workplace,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, FCA Canada. “FCA Canada is committed to providing and sustaining a diverse workplace where employees can thrive and achieve. Healthy, happy and motivated employees are key to driving our innovation, growth and success.”

The 2016 Randstad Award winners list is based on the outcome of the world’s largest survey into employer branding. There are 9,500 respondents per country – both employees and job-seekers – between the ages of 18 and 65. They are asked for their views on a country’s largest companies via an online questionnaire. Companies cannot apply or pay to take part in the Randstad survey. They are selected through national statistics agencies.

FCA Canada currently employs almost 10,000 Canadians in locations that include its national headquarters in Windsor, Ont.; three regional business centres (Mississauga, Ont.; Calgary, Alta.; Pointe-Claire, Que.); three manufacturing facilities (Brampton Assembly Plant and Brampton Satellite Stamping Plant [Ont.]; Etobicoke Casting Plant [Ont.]; Windsor Assembly Plant), three parts distribution centres (Mississauga; Red Deer, Alta.; Pointe-Claire, Que.) and one training & testing facility (Automotive Research and Development Centre, Windsor). Additionally, there are 440 dealership facilities across the country.
