IDC Insights Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of leaders whose work is directly impacts competitive advantage, revenue growth and profitability by leveraging technological and digital tools and methods. IDC recognizes, promotes and rewards innovators, institutions, and companies that challenge the status quo and lead the change.

“We are excited to be recognized for our commitment to achieving excellence through people and focus on developing high performing talent”, said Viswanathan Krishnamurthi, Eaton’s vice president – IT for the Asia Pacific region. “As a global leader in power management, Eaton takes an inclusive approach in creating distinct operational and functional capabilities to offer industry leading solutions that help our customers manage their power more reliably, efficiently, safely and sustainably.”

Eaton was recognized at a ceremony on the 11 December at the Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, Hyderabad. The award was in recognition of the work at the Eaton Information Technology Center (EITC) in Pune for implementing the APAC IT Talent Accelerator Program (TAP) and successfully identifying and grooming high potential ‘early talent’ at EITC. The program not only helped raise employee engagement scores to 80 percent but also resulted in 90 percent retention rates in high-potential program participants.

Eaton has strong focus on leadership development to prepare high performers with potential for future leadership roles – in advance of moving into those roles, Krishnamurthi said. He added that a key element of the Eaton’s Leadership Development Strategy involves programs that nurture key talent at Eaton; strengthen understanding, knowledge and commitment to Eaton’s strategy and the Eaton Business System and develop greater understanding and commitment to Eaton’s values and high performance culture. The APAC IT Talent Accelerator Program (TAP) further builds upon Eaton’s global leadership development curriculum and focuses on developing ‘early talent’ and accelerates their growth within Eaton’s IT organization.

As Eaton’s global in-house center of innovation and excellence in information technology, the Eaton Information Technology Center (EITC) in Pune offers a wide variety of value-added IT services to various Eaton businesses and functions worldwide by combining different perspectives to create better solutions. As a collaborative microcosm of Eaton’s Enterprise IT, EITC is driven by the key objective of global value creation with a strong focus on operational and functional excellence.
