Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) announced today the introduction of a Spicer® one-piece aluminum driveshaft for the Ford Mustang at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Show, held here through Nov. 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The new Spicer® driveshaft weighs 19 lbs. less than the OEM shaft, enabling quicker acceleration and improved driving performance. The Spicer one-piece design also eliminates the need for a center support bearing.
“Mustang owners are very performance oriented,” said Bill Gryzenia, vice president and general manager, Dana Aftermarket. “We think they will appreciate the increase in response and acceleration they can get by simply bolting this new driveshaft into their cars.”
The Spicer® one-piece aluminum driveshaft is an easy installation. It bolts directly to the original-equipment Mustang flange without any need for adapters. The driveshaft comes with a 3.5-inch diameter, and a 4-inch diameter driveshaft is also available for higher RPM applications. A total of six part numbers are available to fit 2007-2014 Mustang V-8 models, including the GT500.
Dana will highlight a number of new products at its SEMA Show booth, No. 36181, located in the South Hall Upper at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
