Automotive World has published a new forecast report on the Volkswagen Group, VW Group future model plans and production outlook. The report examines VW Group’s upcoming model plans and global passenger car production in the period to 2017. Information presented includes VW Group future model plans by brand and model, VW Group passenger car production by brand and model (2008-2012), and VW Group passenger car production forecasts by brand and model (2013-2017).
For the year ending 31 December 2012, VW Group reported consolidated production of 9.255 million units, a 9.0% increase. For this year, the forecast is for the rate of increase in VW’s output to slow markedly, primarily reflecting a weaker domestic market and slower growth than the company initially forecast in Brazil. A return to higher growth rates in the following three years is expected to take annual volumes above ten million in 2015/16, assuming no major downturns in core markets, particularly China.
