Automobile manufacturers support a review of the Eurovignette Directive when its objective is to improve transparency, clarity, proportionality and to address the charging differentiation of the existing system ‒ all with the aim to encourage the use of cleaner vehicles.
The review should also result in the further harmonisation of technologies and charging systems used throughout the EU. Users have the right to know what they are paying for and why, so it is vital to provide transparency and clarity about the collection and use of revenues.
