GM Holden Executive Director – Human Resources, Mr Ashley Winnett, has been honoured at the 2016 LinkedIn Conscious Business Leadership Awards, taking top honours in the Management Maestro categoryon Wednesday 31 May, 2016.

The awards, instituted by LinkedIn in 2015, create a unique platform for recognising HR thought leaders who mindfully foster an environment of trust, integrity and openness within their organisations.

Presenting the award to Mr Winnett, renowned author and LinkedIn Vice President, Mr Fred Kofman noted “Consciousness is key. Through a conscious practice of business you anchor yourself in your essential values, choose behaviors in alignment with such values, and act with unconditional responsibility and integrity. Through a conscious practice of business you can succeed beyond success”

Accepting the award for Management Maestro, Mr Winnett said “I’m honoured to be the first Australian recipient of this award but also to represent the work of a remarkable HR team.”

“Holden is a truly an amazing place to work.  Our people care for each other and strive each and every day for excellence in everything we do. Whilst the last couple of years have been immensely challenging on an emotional level, we are excited about assisting our people and the business transition from a Design, Manufacture and Sales past to a future which includes a world class Design studio and amazing National Sales organisation.“

Directly acknowledging his colleagues, Mr Winnett proudly added, “We have an incredible HR team dedicated, hardworking and remarkable at what they do.  Each and every day they energetically bound into work to help our leaders get the best out of their people, and secure business results through acquiring, empowering and developing talent.”

“Our team’s mission is both selfless and clear – support our employee’s to successfully transition to life outside of Holden whilst building a new Holden which honors the legacy of those that could not continue on our amazing corporate journey to be Australia’s Best Automotive Company.”

“As we reflect on where our business has been, is and where we will help guide it, I am so immensely gratified and humbled to be working with an extraordinary group of HR professionals.”

The LinkedIn Conscious Business leadership Awards are inspired by the seminal work of Mr Fred Kofman, who has published the critically acclaimed book in business management titled “Conscious Business – How to Build Values Through Values.”

In their second year, the Conscious Business leadership Awards are by nomination, and fall into four categories.  Recognised by LinkedIn and a panel of peers, the awards aim to celebrate HR leaders from across the Asia Pacific Region.
