A change of speed limits will always spark mixed reactions but a new speed limit law for HGVs in England and Wales has seen multiple parties object that it is not the right way to try to improve truck safety. The government is raising the national speed limit for HGVs over 7.5 tonnes from 40mph to 50mph on single carriageways, and from 50mph to 60mph on dual carriageways.
