Selling activity in the US light vehicle market varies widely month to month, with bursts of momentum occurring in certain selling windows. For example, January is one of the slower seasonal months of the year, following on the heels of December's end of year promotions. Then there is the big push at the end of October and the traditional Memorial Day and Labor Day sales that set a pattern for peaks and troughs. Emerging new ownership alternatives could interrupt that pattern, but the question is how quickly.
