Strike at GM’s Brazilian plant ends

GM has agreed to changes with regard to its workforce reduction plans at the Sao Jose dos Campos facility in Brazil, thereby bringing the week-long strike to an end

The Brazilian automotive market has been going through a rough phase, owing to poor consumer confidence, tighter credit and inflationary pressure. While these factors have dragged down the domestic new vehicle market, the export segment has not been performing well either, with the drop in demand from Argentina, one of Brazil's largest export markets.
