There will soon be a new hand guiding US policy on vehicle safety, recalls, autonomous driving and fuel economy. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is about to welcome a new Administrator. Heidi King has been serving as Deputy Administrator for the past seven months but has now been nominated to fill the top position, which has been vacant since President Donald Trump took office. Ahead of the vote on her nomination, King was questioned by members of the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation on her priority areas and intentions regarding key topics.
