National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) swooped on to the scene in 2012 and acquired the troubled Swedish manufacturer from Dutch sportscar company Spyker after a proposed deal with Chinese OEM Youngman fell through. Its original plan was to transform Saab into an electric vehicle specialist with a strong focus on China.
