There are now over 17 million natural gas vehicles in use worldwide, with around 24,000 refuelling stations to power them according to the US Department of Energy. The use of natural gas in transportation is now well established, and last year, demand accounted for around 2% of total energy use in road transport, a figure that has grown from 0.2% in 2000.
