It is clear that forces beyond the automotive sector are playing a significant role in the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) ramp-up. The exact mechanisms differ depending on market: the EU, for example, is preparing to introduce legislation that will make ADAS fitment on new vehicles mandatory from 2022 onwards. Meanwhile, in the US, automatic emergency braking (AEB) fitment rates have rocketed thanks to a voluntary agreement by automakers….
